I'm posting this for the single mother that enjoys traveling w/kids!
I have traveled for years alone and once I had a child that did not stop me from traveling,I just kept moving with him in tow.
You have to do your research and even then you have to also research the resort or hotel you wish to vacation at.
For years I was a little leary of the all-inclusive resorts and the kids clubs,so I did a full out investigation.
If you want the real hookup here it is,
Most resorts like Holiday Inn,Riu,Iberostar and many others in the caribbean kids 12 and under are free.
So while you're checking out resorts check to see if kids are free,even being a single traveler you can have 2 kids with you 12 and under for free,yes free all-inclusive .
That means you're paying for yourself but your kids are free, all food,all drinks,all activities,kids club included.
Keeping that in mind check out the kids club for yourself before you leave your kids. There are many kids in the kids clubs with many personalities and many kids from different countries. That being said I didn't leave my son in afew kids clubs because I didn't feel comfortable,but the ones that I did he enjoyed.
With him taken car of I was able to partake in the adult activities and the adult only areas that most resorts have. Louging in the adult pool or hot tub with a swim up bar close is the perfect way to relax with other adults relaxing away from the kiddies.
Do not worry about being alone because there is always someone to chat with,drink with(it's included) and party with.
Most resorts have shuttles to take you to the hot spots and nightclubs intown for a nominal fee if you want to party with the locals,resorts are full of tourist. Some want to venture out and some do not,it's your choice. You'll meet people on the shuttle and instantly the party is on!! Then you just carry that back to the resort where you'll continue to drink and party without a charge!
So if you always wanted to enjoy a wonderful adventure with your kids do not get discouraged with the pricing.
You will probably do better locating a flight,then contacting the resort on your own and ask about specials and the kid policy.
If you find that you like the resort join their points or rewards program and start accumulating points for free nights.
My son and I have enjoyed our travels immensely and will be enjoying another springbreak soon!
